Which Algarve markets take place today or this weekend? How can you find a flea market in Olhão, Faro, Tavira or Lagos? Here are answers to common questions about using our market calendar and planning your visit.
Our interactive markets calendar shows upcoming regular markets. Select “Today”, “Tomorrow”, “This weekend”, “Next 7 days” or a specific date, then narrow your results by municipality, town or market type.
Select “This weekend” at the top of the page. Regular Saturday and Sunday markets will appear by date, with known opening times and locations. You can also filter by municipality or town.
Yes. Choosing Olhão in the “Municipality” filter includes markets listed in the Olhão municipality, such as those in Olhão, Fuseta, Moncarapacho and Quelfes. Pechão is also part of the municipality, but it will only appear in the results if a market is included in our database. You can then select a specific town or village to refine your search.
A municipality (known as a concelho in Portugal) is an administrative area that includes several towns or villages. For example, Ferragudo is in the municipality of Lagoa, while Estoi is in the municipality of Faro. The “Town / village” filter lets you focus on a specific place within your chosen municipality.
Some municipal markets open on several days each week. They appear on each of their usual opening days so you can see which markets are normally available on your selected date.
A municipal market is usually a permanent food market selling fresh produce through established traders. A flea market, often known as a feira de velharias in Portugal, is more likely to feature second-hand goods, antiques and vintage finds. Traditional and farmers’ markets may also sell local food, clothes, plants and handicrafts.
A feira de velharias is a market for old or second-hand goods, similar to a flea market or antiques fair. Look out for this Portuguese term if you enjoy browsing vintage and second-hand items while visiting the Algarve.
Many markets follow a weekly or monthly schedule, while others only take place during a particular season or pause for certain months. Our calendar uses the periods recorded in the database; one-off events are not included in this directory.
Use the calendar above to select the Olhão municipality, then choose a town or village such as Fuseta, Moncarapacho or Quelfes. For further local information, you can also read our Olhão guide.

No. The first Thursday of the month in Fuseta is the Mercado Mensal, a traditional market. The Feira das Velharias is the flea market and is normally held on the second Sunday of the month. These are two separate events, and any seasonal breaks recorded in our database are reflected in the calendar.
The traditional monthly market in Estoi normally takes place on the second Sunday of the month. The Feira de Velharias is listed for the first and third Sundays. To check upcoming dates, select Faro as the municipality, then Estoi as the town.
Each market listing shows the known location and, where a link is available, provides access to Google Maps. Some links open a place-name search rather than an exact GPS pin, so check the result in Maps before setting off.
No. Upcoming dates are calculated from the usual market schedules; they are not confirmed in real time. Markets may be moved, changed or cancelled because of local festivities, public holidays or the weather. When opening times cannot be reliably established, we prefer not to invent them. Check the source linked in the listing before making a special journey.
Good to know: this guide covers regular weekly, monthly and seasonal markets across the Algarve. The dates shown in the calendar are indicative and may change without notice. One-off events and special fairs are not included.
